Achievements

Achievements are badges you earn by doing the work Huntbase exists for: closing hunts with a verdict, covering ATT&CK tactics and techniques, running queries across your connected sources, and working alongside Scout. They live in Settings › Personal › Achievements, and only you can see them.

Beta

This feature is currently rolling out and may not be enabled for your organization.

Open your achievements

  1. Open the navigation menu and click User Profile.
  2. In the Personal section of the Settings sidebar, click Achievements.

Badges count your past activity too. The first time you open Achievements, anything you have already earned is there, dated when you actually earned it, and a card at the top tells you how many: You've already earned N badges. Click Dismiss to hide the card.

Read the page

The top of the page has three tiles:

TileWhat it shows
Next upThe badge you are closest to earning next, with a progress bar.
Badges earnedHow many badges you have earned out of the total available.
Latest badgeThe badge you earned most recently.

Below the tiles are your Showcase (see Showcase badges), the filters, and the badge grid. Each tile in the grid shows the badge's medal, its name, and its status: the tier you have reached, Earned, Locked, or Hidden. Badges you are working towards also show a small progress bar.

Tiers

Most badges have three tiers, Bronze, Silver and Gold, each with a higher target. The medal takes the colour of the highest tier you have reached. Badges with a single target are simply Earned once you reach it. A grey medal with a lock means you haven't earned that badge yet.

Filter the grid

Use the chips above the grid to narrow it down:

FilterShows
AllEvery badge.
EarnedBadges where you have reached at least one tier.
In progressBadges you have started but haven't finished, including the next tier of a badge you already hold.
Getting started, Hunting, Coverage, Query craft, ScoutThe badges in one category.

See what a badge counts

Click any badge to open its details. The panel shows:

  • The category and the badge's current status.
  • What you need to do to earn it.
  • Its Tiers, with the target for each and the date you reached it.
  • Progress towards your next tier, for example "17 of 25 to silver".
  • What counts towards it, such as closed hunts with a recorded verdict or queries that complete without error.
  • The date you earned it.

On smaller screens the details open below the grid instead of beside it.

Hidden and limited badges

  • A Hidden badge keeps its name and criteria secret until you earn it. Its details say Keep hunting. This one reveals itself when you earn it.
  • A Limited badge could only be earned for a short time, for example by joining during the open launch. It is marked Limited on its tile and in its details.
  • Some badges are awarded by hand rather than earned through activity. Their details say Awarded by the Huntbase team, and they have no progress bar.

Only your own actions count. Work Scout does on its own, scheduled queries, and activity on sample data don't count towards badges. "Nothing found" is a perfectly good verdict: First Hunt, Hunter and Steady Cadence count closed hunts whatever the verdict, and only Found Something needs a confirmed finding.

note

The Huntbase team may also award badges by hand, for example to thank design partners. They appear in the same grid.

Showcase badges

Pin up to three earned badges to your Showcase at the top of the page:

  1. Click an earned badge to open its details.
  2. Click Add to showcase.

To unpin a badge, open it and click Remove from showcase. When all three slots are full, the button reads Showcase full · replace oldest: clicking it swaps out the badge you pinned first. Badges you haven't earned show Earn it to showcase instead.

When you unlock a badge

When you earn a new badge or tier, a Badge unlocked notification appears in the corner of the screen, wherever you are in Huntbase. Click View to jump to your achievements. Newly earned badges show up when you next load or return to the app. You don't need to keep Achievements open.
